Our story
Pectek’s founder, a former 75th Ranger Regiment Sniper with 5 combat deployments to Afghanistan, Iraq & Syria has remained immersed in men’s athletic & fitness circles since the age of 6. For over 20 years, he’s repeatedly seen two poorly addressed, recurring issues surrounding men's nipples;
A lot of gyno, and a lot of chafing.
Gyno (the common slang term for Gynecomastia), is an increase in male breast glandular tissue typically originating from excessive hormonal fluctuations. If you suffer from this condition, just know that you are not alone, gyno is extremely common; with some studies claiming that up to 65% of men suffer from the condition, making the men that don’t have it, in the minority. Typically originating in men from puberty (but also commonly caused by anabolic steroid usage), it can cause puffy, protruding, cone-shaped nipples that noticeably print through thin fabrics, resulting in unsightly contours visible to bystanders. This can be a huge self-confidence hit for guys, and oftentimes the only way to get rid of it is through expensive surgical procedures, causing men to turn to some, or all, of these other solutions…
Poor posture. Guys will hunch over and/or roll their shoulders forward in an attempt to decrease & hide gyno presentation
Flicking & pinching. Flicking & pinching their nips causes a temporary change in presentation, which can alter their appearance and make them appear less puffy.
Tape. Believe it or not, along with that iced mocha latte, you’ve probably crossed a few men on your morning commute who are also sporting a couple of pieces of tape under that dress shirt of theirs to subdue those bad boys.
Layering & compression garments. Probably the most commonly opted-for solution by men is wearing layers and compression garments to suppress the appearance of their gyno. Wearing multiple shirts at the same time, compression shirts & vests under their outer layers, sweatshirts, and jackets even in the hot summer months is an effective method, however severely flawed. If you’re wondering why a guy is wearing a parka at your 4th of July BBQ, gyno is probably why.
All of these solutions are impractical, at least we think so…
Poor posture can lead to back problems, and walking around with a hunched back & shoulders can make you appear less confident, whether in the office or on a date.
Flicking and pinching to alter your nipple's appearance works well…for about 3 minutes until you have to flick and pinch again. And again. We humbly suggest it’s probably best to avoid becoming weird nipple-touching dude.
Tape must be constantly replaced and purchased, and it’s sticky. It can also cause awkward unsolicited questions in situations where you might have to take your shirt off, e.g., the beach, a one-night stand, etc. The same awkward and unsolicited questions can be expected in the same scenarios as you struggle to take off a compression shirt, or vest, or while you’re dripping in sweat and dressed like you’re about to go on an expedition to the North Pole at that BBQ we mentioned earlier.
Nipple Chafing is common for all men who conduct long-form repetitive exercise. Loose and abrasive fabrics such as cotton repeatedly dragging across your chest can cause severe chafing for men, sometimes to the point of bleeding, especially when participating in activities such as long-distance running. The solutions for this kind of suck too, honestly…
Tape. As you may have noticed, men love taping their nipples. Taping can be an effective solution to prevent chafing, however, it is a temporary one, sticky, and the need for reapplication in the middle of strenuous exercise due to perspiration can be aggravating and pause your workout sessions.
Petroleum jelly. Pros: It works. Cons: Frequent need for reapplication…and you're covered in petroleum jelly.
Compression garments. Tight-fitting, moisture-wicking athletic compression garments crafted from synthetic fibers are generally recommended for and work well to protect you from nipple chafing during exercise, but many men don’t enjoy wearing compression shirts as their sole layer, and layering shirts in hot weather conditions can put you at greater risk of heat injury.
Thankfully for you, our Founder’s patent-pending solution, The Hybrid Compression Crewneck by Pectek™, addresses all the downfalls that come with current marketplace solutions.
The Hybrid Compression Crewneck presents externally as a standard men's crewneck T-shirt, while internally sporting a discretely integrated compression component. It is attached internally at the shoulder seams of the crewneck t-shirt, constructed from synthetic compressive moisture-wicking material. It’s thin, near seamless, sleeveless, cut lower around the neck, and cropped up high towards the bottom of the ribs.
Its one-unit design allows the crewneck and its compressive interior to be put on and taken off discretely, nobody will suspect you have anything on other than a normal t-shirt. The internal compression component also provides a protective moisture-wicking, compressive barrier protecting your nipples from chafing. It is thin, near seamless, intentionally cut, and has been repeatedly tested and revised to provide customers purchasing it for gyno suppression with the utmost discretion during wear. It is cut to avoid exposure of the compression component during daily activities where your shirt may ride up or where a standard compression undershirt may poke through the neckline & sleeves. It only covers from the neck to the bottom of your ribs, allowing for cool airflow to reach your midsection in hot weather conditions.
We’ve thought through all scenarios the customers may run into, and through meticulous revision, the guys at Pectek™ tackled every issue we thought the customer may face and crafted a solution with you in mind.
We are spearheading the Men’s Nipple Community and are pretty sure we have what you’ve been searching for.
Confidence awaits. Try it out for yourself.
Instructions & Product configuration
Wear
Locate the compression liner and route your head and arms up into both the liner & crewneck then out their respective holes. Once on, pull down around the bottom of the compression liner towards your waist to flatten as needed. Ensure you are inside the liner & not in front or behind it.
reconfiguration
Your Hybrid Compression Crewneck will arrive in the proper configuration, however it can get twisted during wash & dry cycles. To check for twists, turn your crewneck inside-out. The attachment points should be straight (as pictured below). If yours is twisted, untwist it before reconfiguration.
While inside-out, reach into the compression liner with both arms, pinch at the attachment points, and pull the entire crewneck through the liner.
Flip the crewneck around, and this time reaching through the crewneck, find the attachment points again, pinch, and pull the unit through itself one last time.
Voilà!
Your Hybrid Compression Crewneck should now be in the proper configuration.
